    KELOWNA, B.C. -- During our descent into the valley, we spot a familiar site from our window on the starboard side of the plane. Approximately 2,000 feet below and to the west, it's instantly recognizable. Swatches of lush green grass, meandering through the rolling hills on a piece of land perched on a ridge between Okanagan and Kalamalka lakes.

    A few minutes later, as we prepare to touch down, the view is similar, but much closer now. More patches of grass winding through thick stands of ponderosa pines.
