It's part of this whole "back to school" mindset in North America, this need we have to forget about the summer fun we've had. No more carefree days and frivolous nights; it's time to re-focus and re-group.
Fall is like a pre-New Year's, or at the very least, a re-New Years. It's the time when we once again affirm those resolutions that we were so willing to toss aside in the summer, the biggie being hitting the gym on a regular basis.

I admit that I have been a big slacker this summer. I found the best way to get back on track was to go out and treat myself to some new yoga gear. It sounds silly, but it was a great motivator to get me back in the studio -- at least a couple times a week.
Luckily, fashion has finally extended into the realm of workout/active wear. We used to have to resort to grey sweats and old T-shirts. Now there are tons of fantastic fashionable options to choose from, like form-fitting Lululemon pants to cute tops by Tonic.
This trend has also carried over into accessories. One of my favourite options right now is the stylish gym bag. I got one from Lululemon a few years ago and it's great -- serving both fashion and function. There's lots of space to fit your clothes, running shoes and other necessities. Among the bestsellers are the Asana yoga-mat bag -- great for toting your mat to class and keeping it dust-free -- and the Circuit gym bag, which can expand in size, depending on how much gear you need for your workout.
Another great accessory to hit the market is the Sigg water bottle. In light of the recent scare over plastic bottles, these aluminium bottles offer an eco-friendly, healthy option and they are also super fashionable. The City collection has some really great graphic elements that elicit oohs and ahhs when you whip out a bottle to quench your thirst. With so many designs and colours to choose from, there is a Sigg out there with your name on it.
Other great accessories include things like stylish, stay-put head bands to keep your hair off your face. Being a big yoga fan, I also like the fact that you can get funky PVC-free mats and carrying straps -- the perfect accessory to keep your mat clean and neatly rolled up -- in all kinds of fun hues and patterns.

So while you're reorganizing, don't forget to refresh your workout accessories and give yourself the perfect reason to show off a bit at the gym. Hey, you might even get in a workout or two.
