Man, 20, stabbed to death in Nelson House

The death of a 20-year-old man on the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation is being investigated as a homicide.

The man, identified as Bernard Spence, was found badly injured at around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at a home on the First Nation in Nelson House, RCMP said. The victim later died.

An autopsy has revealed he died from a stab wound to the neck.

One male youth has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and made his first court appearance in Thompson earlier today.

Nelson House RCMP, the Thompson RCMP Major Crime Unit, the Winnipeg RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the Thompson Forensic Identification Unit are investigating.
